Mr. Mewes has over 30 years of experience in information technology, including programming, systems analysis, and selling and marketing syndicated research and consulting services to users, vendors, and investors.
At Gartner for ten years, Ken served in several executive positions, including Vice President Sales Eastern Region, Vice President Conference Marketing, and Vice President Worldwide Market Development. While at Gartner, Mr. Mewes played a major role in growing sales from $400K to $90 million and in positioning this company for a successful IPO.
Ken has also served as Vice President Marketing for META Group, where he was responsible for this firm’s worldwide marketing strategy. As Vice President Sales, Hurwitz Group and Vice President Marketing D.H. Brown, Ken’s contributions in marketing, service packaging, and sales strategy development, as well as direct sales, resulted in significant increases in sales of syndicated research, multi-client studies, and custom consulting projects.
Ken is also an experienced IT research analyst. As an industry analyst he has been published extensively in proprietary research studies, white papers, and FORTUNE Magazine. He has authored white papers and competitive analyses on Microsoft .NET, IT strategy, server consolidation, IBM Power Systems, Cisco UCS, IBM Flex Systems Manager, SAP security, Oracle JD Edwards, virtualization, and more.
In the early days of his career, Ken served as a programmer and systems analyst for IBM, where he designed and developed internal and external systems for IBM and its customers.
